Wouldn't recommended getting into this software if you really want to push your capability as an editor. Great software and UI, just lacks a lot features that Davinci and Premiere have. It crashes a lot, it's buggy, it's horrible for coloring, it's expensive, it doesn't autosave nearly as well as davinci or fcpx, you have to use after effects for vfx which also suffers from all of the above. If you're looking to edit videography (not cinematography) premiere would be your best bet since it dominates this market. I started editing in premiere and that opened a lot of doors for me as a youtube and weddings editor. I specifically work in narrative filmmaking, narrative commercial work, and I don't work for a company. If you want to make the best stuff you can possibly make, Davinci Resolve is it. I'm a contractor and my clientele have included brands such as Lucid, Nike, and a few Sundance films. Resolve is the editor with the most capability.
